Working out the size of area you want tiled.
When working out how many sq metres of tiling you need for your walls, you need to measure the length you intend to have the tiles in metres, and then multiply by the height which will give you, your total square metres.
If the area is more complicated, which it normally is, then you need to break the the areas up into rectangles. Multiply the height by the widths again on each area. then add the areas up at the end.
In this example you would work out section (A) first which is 0.60 m x 0.72 m = 1.2 m2
then work out section (B) which works out to be 2.4 m x 0.50 m = 0.432 m2 . After you have measure all your rectangles separately you add them together, so in our example it would be
(A) 1.2 m2 + (B) 0.432 m2 = 1.632 m2
Once you have your sq metres total, enter in the box below
